About Western ghats:

Western ghats also known as sahyadri is a range of mountains along the western coast of India. It quite literally is an emotion for the people residing near Western Ghats and its natural wealth. The southern peninsular region of India along its western coastline has a long ridge of mountain ranges called the Western Ghats. These mountain ranges are perfect for monsoon trekking in Karnataka, and the forests that abound it acts as the catchment region for the rains. It has also recently been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The large agrarian population and the life in the rainforests of the Western Ghats come alive in the monsoons, celebrating this time of abundance.

The region is known for its rich biodiversity. Rivers such as Aghanashini, Bedti(gangavali) , varada, shalmala nurture the relics of the ancient forest.  On this trekking you can explore the best scenic beauty of the nature along with the best havyaka food.

Things to do :

Day 1:

At around 9am start your journey towards Gubbigadde hole hanging Bridge after having the breakfast @ Shantivana. Enjoy the walk in the thick tropical rain forest.

Relax for some time near the river.

Proceed the trekking along the river bank heading towards pandavara hole (caves in the river)

Enjoy your lunch  on the banks of the river. Spend some good in time in the river. Head back to Shantivana.

Night accommodation : Tent house in the middle of the paddy field on the banks of the lake. (Will be providing rooms on sharing basis if you insist)      

Fun activity : storytelling, campfire       

 

  

 Day 2:

Wake up early and freshen up.

Pack your bags and travel towards the beautiful unexplored Hill station of Western ghats named Nishane gudda. You’ll be dropped till the foot of the hills.

Start trekking to the top of the peak. Enjoy the misty morning walk. Have breakfast on              the top of the peak. Spend good time watching the sun rise.

Descend to the campsite. Back to Shantivana.

Have lunch. Play games (volleyball, shuttlecock, carrom, kabaddi, swimming, lazy pool)
